5) Information of Kerala

“Kerala” come from the word “KERA” meaning coconut tree, which can be widely seen in Kerala.





Malayalam is the official language of Kerala.








Thiruvanathapuram is the capital of Kerala.









Kerala is famous for its Sadhya, consist of boiled rice and a host of vegetarian dishes on a banana leaf.




Onam is the popular and harvest festival of Kerala.





The traditional wear of the Kerala is called 'Mundu'.






Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, Thirvathira, etc are few traditional dance of Kerala.



Kerala is famous for spices, unspoiled beaches, greenery, houseboats etc



Kerala enjoys three major seasons – summer, monsoon and winter. Monsoon season in Kerala comes twice a year. Southwest monsoon, from June to August, is the main rainy season.



There are 44 rivers in Kerala. Periyar River is the main river of Kerala.




The main crops grown in the state are paddy, coconut, pepper, cashew, cassava, and plantation crops like rubber. Kerala is an Agrarian economy.
