12) A special Gujarati snacks

Updated: Jan 13

Gujarat is famous for its snacks like Thepla, Dhokla, Gatiya, Khandavi, Khakra etc. One of the favourite of mine is KHAKRA.

Khakra is baked, not fried. ... A typical khakhra recipe has wheat flour, fenugreek (methi), or ajwain, ginger-garlic-green chilli paste, turmeric powder, a little oil, water, and salt to taste.

Khakra is good for diabetics, heart and weight loss. Whole wheat flour is excellent for diabetics as they will not shoot up your blood sugar levels as they are a low GI food. Note that ghee is used in the recipe to cook the khakhra. Diabetics need to check if that amount of fat is balanced in their meal.

Khakra is a crispy chapattior roti. There are several varieties of Khakhra like the methi, jeera, bajri, garlic, math and masala flavors. Khakhra is usually eaten with chutney, pickles, ghee or yoghurt.

But now, as people love to eat different cuisine, even in Khakra also, we are getting different varieties like Italian, Pizza, Mexican etc...

The magic of Khakra is that when you start eating it, you won't stop eating it.

Now I have told you what Khakra is, but I have something to share with you

that if you want to try Khakra, you can buy it for www.khakra.com. There are 34 variety of Khakra.

Each one of them is very delicious. Do give a try.
